Ed2010 Atlanta speaker series - Sue G Collins
The Atlanta chapter of Ed2010 will host its first of four in a series of speaker sessions aimed at bringing together the student community and real world magazine editors in the local publishing industry. Scheduled for January 9th, 6.30pm-8.30pm, the first session will feature Sue G Collins as the guest speaker. The venue sponsor for all sessions is the popular co-working space Hypepotamus, located on the Georgia Tech campus. Sue is the editor of Buckhaven Lifestyle Magazine, launched early 2012. A graduate of the University of Oregon's School of Journalism, Sue started her career in publishing, as editor of an international women's magazine for expatriates and as assistant editor for an Asian jewelry and gem trade mag in Hong Kong. She then moved to Ann Arbor writing for two weekly newspapers before moving to Atlanta four years ago, launching BuckHaven Lifestyle. The Atlanta chapter of Ed2010 was established January 2012 by Ruksana Hussain, a metro area freelancer who works in different capacities at several local print and online publications. Ed2010 is a community of young magazine editors and magazine-editor wannabes who want to learn more about the industry and how to land top editing and writing positions. Originally established in New York, the group now has chapters across the USA and Canada. More information about the Atlanta chapter and future events can be viewed at the website - http://www.ed2010.com/2011/11/atlanta-0 - or the Facebook page for the group - https://www.facebook.com/Ed2010Atlanta.
