Event

BURNAWAY's Fall Studio Soirée
BURNAWAYs Fall Studio Soirée will be located at the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design at Georgia State University. For this multi-floor, multi-disciplinary event, MFA students in Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Ceramics, Textiles, Sculpture, Photography, and Graphic Design will invite the public in for impromptu critiques, dialogue, and studio tours. Students will also be doing live, interactive demos, including textile dying, wheel throwing, and silk screen printing, as well as enacting performance pieces.

Bring your wallet! MFA & BFA students will be exhibiting and selling finished works in the lower studios, from prints to ceramic ware to paintings.

The Ernest G. Welch Gallery will also be open after hours for its final day of "Socially Engaged," curated by Brenda Massie. The exhibition, held in partnership with ACP and CENCIA, showcases artists including Marilyn Minter, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Deborah Bright, Pixy Liao, Kerry Skarbakka, Cheryl Pope, and Georgia State alumna, Christina Price Washington.

Studio Soirée provides a unique opportunity for the public to visit the incubators that produce tomorrow's art stars! Great food and drinks provided!
