The Museum of Dead Words
Take a guided tour of 11 words that once meant so much to us, but now mean nothing more than srnglak.
Your guide, Dyalekt, a Brooklyn-based MC, educator and purveyor of wordly worlds, spent a year researching internet comments and found 11 words that turned arguments into fights.
He has put together an art installation/ museum tour/ theater show of his results called the Museum of Dead Words, combining hip-hop, performance, and visual art, to provide an innovative educational experience done pop-up museum style, and also wrote an entire rap album to accompany each word.
Our show in Wilmington is of the first preview showings of the museum before we head to Mozilla Festival in London, UK at the end of October. MozFest is for advocates of a healthy Internet, and we've been invited to explore with them the intersection of the web with civil society, journalism, public policy, and art through interactive sessions.
WARNING: Rapping will happen. There will be bias and binaries. On both sides.
