Ellen Stern
Beginning in the 1920s, Al Hirschfeld caricatured Hollywood, politics, and notably the theater: Broadway belonged to Hirschfeld. His distinctive drawings appeared in The New York Times and other publications for more than seventy-five years. Ellen Stern's new book is the first definitive biography of the legendary artist. Ellen Stern has been a writer and editor at New York, GQ, and the Daily News. Her books include Once Upon a Telephone, Threads (with designer Joseph Abboud), Sister Sets, and Gracie Mansion--with mayoral drawings by Al Hirschfeld.
Single tickets are $18 each; Premier Passes (good for all JBF author events throughout the year) are $99.00.
Free student tickets are available only at the J's Box Office at the Staenberg Family Complex in Creve Coeur or at the door of the event with a valid ID.
