A tap dance recital/show at Studio A Dance, featuring all levels of students taught by Howard Blume in Silver Lake, plus special guest performers.
Shows at 5:30 & 7 PM.
(Please note: There is a drop-box that allows you to select your performance of choice. The shows are ticketed separately with a brief break in-between.)
Admission: $10 at door; $9 online in advance plus service fee of $1.31 per ticket.
Running Time: About 1 hour, no intermission.
The theater has about 60 seats.
(Refreshments available before, between and after shows.)

The show features choreography by late tap legends Eddie Brown and Leonard Reed. The musical selections are diverse, featuring routines to performances of Ella Fitzgerald, Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington, Jobim, Electric Light Orchestra and Lana Del Rey. Noted magician Rob Zabrecky will tap as well as perform magic.
Each ticket stub can be redeemed for a free tap lesson. Limit of two free lessons per person. Ticket stubs are transferable and offer applies both to new and current students. Free classes valid until July 1, 2013.
Howard Blume teaches all levels of tap students at his studio in Silver Lake. He has studied with some of the finest tappers ever--including Eddie Brown, Louis DaPron, Charles Kelley and Alfred Desio. He also has performed extensively. He has taught for decades as a guest artist and staff teacher in Los Angeles, North Carolina, Boston and London. He's taught the Eddie Brown tap class in Los Angeles since Brown's death in 1992, after Brown's students wanted him to keep it going.
