CABARET
The Shane Lalani Center for the Arts is pleased to announce its summer Community Theatre production: CABARET will play in the Dulcie Theatre from June 29 through July 22, 2018.
In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles. With the Emcees bawdy songs as wry commentary, CABARET explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlins natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately captivated by English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sallys boardinghouse, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish.
CABARET runs weekends from June 29 through July 22 in the Dulcie Theatre at the Shane Lalani Center for the Arts in Livingston. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. Tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for seniors and college students, and $10 for youth 17 and under. Reservations are available at theshanecenter.org or by calling the box office at 406-222-1420.
