My Life, Your Hands: Dungeon Safety and Emergencies w/ Remi
"Safety? Please! That stuff's boring!"
Some parts of life can be a little on the mundane side, that is until they get really exciting in unintended and unwanted ways. When emergencies happen, then what? How can we take action to prevent them or what do we do once they've occurred? How will we be treated by emergency medical professionals, firefighters, police, and doctors?
"My Life Your Hands" is a basic course that covers a range of topics related to establishing safe play environments, minimizing and accounting for risks, as well as addressing accidents and emergencies as they unfold. Such topics include:
Playspace evaluation and risk minimization
Open and thorough negotiation prior to play
First aid kids
When to call 911 and how to engage with medical and emergency professionals
Providing first aid in the event of an emergency

Presenter Bio:
Remi is a nationally certified paramedic with over a decade of experience working in emergency medical services. They are also a community volunteer who has been providing medical coverage for kink and fetish events since 2008. They have been the medical coordinator for The Floating World, Leather Leadership Conference, and provided aid at events such as RambleGRUE, Camp Crucible, the Center for Sex Positive Culture, and PolyCamp. Remi has also been a founder and founding member of multiple charities and community organization to support LGBTQ individuals in need. They are a recipient of the 2014 David Peters Award and the 2016 Northeast Region Pantheon of Leather Award for community service and activism.
