AMOR / CUCINA POVERA / DJ ADIDADAS + DJ BARBAROSSA
Night School present an evening of mutated disco and higher power.

AMOR
AMOR, a new quartet based largely in Glasgow, consisting of Richard Youngs, Luke Fowler, Michael Francis Duch and Paul Thomson. AMOR is a master-class in blissful, searching, avant-disco fuelled by telepathic ensemble playing and an untouchable, higher joy. With a life-giving force that's found in the balance between hefty, bass-thick kicks and crisp percussion, an elastic double bass that lends a bounce to proceedings and floating piano chords that recalla a warped take on Philadelphia International Records, a live AMOR performance is a ritual of dance, of togetherness. AMOR's debut 12" Paradise / In Love An Arc surfaced earlier this year to rapturous acclaim, but the merging of minds in a space, locked in to the collective mind is where this music really breathes. This is a rare chance to be part of it.

CUCINA POVERA
Sound manipulator and adventurous, multi-faceted musician Maria Rossi performs seance-like, ritualistic performances that make ample use of her hymnal voice and found sound recordings. Despite sources that range from nature sounds and synth drones, CUCINA POVERA is a homogenous sound, an almost perfect, crystalline world that approaches the sacred. Aurally, much of Cucina Povera is fragile, a natural feedback that builds different patterns around Rossi's voice but at its source this music is real, earthy, concerned with reality and the higher planes of the every day.

DJ ADIDADAS (Live)
Lewis Cook has been a key agent in Glasgow's underground mulch for the best part of a decade, first writing obscured synth pop as MOTHER GANGA, then as the Eno of local distorted monsters THE COSMIC DEAD and latterly as half of cosmic pop avatars HAPPY MEALS. DJ ADIDADAS is different, but who really knows. A mad, chameleon monk, Cook's utterances in this form take the shape of warped Acid Techno, blissful, degraded house music and every farcical stop along the way. Hail the Hyndland Acid Krew.
