About the Instructor: Known as the "Fastest Tassel-Twirler from East to West," Peekaboo Pointe has graced the stage of nearly every burlesque show in New York City, and continues on her mission of "Seducing the World, One Stage at a Time." Peekaboo started out as a classically trained modern dancer studying under Bill T. Jones, Mark Morris Dance Group, and a host of other notable choreographers. With an early background in ballet and tap, she eventually ventured off on a rare and unusual tour of Cuba studying Afro-Cuban Dance with the group Cutumba. Since then, Peekaboo has applied her extensive knowledge of dance to the nightlife of New York City and turned it into striptease gold. She embodies classic burlesque glamour, but can't resist throwing a little seductive shock into each of her performances.
Peekaboo and her twirling tassels have wowed crowds all over the world! From a coast-coast tour of Australia with the Burlesque Ball 2010, the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with the award winning show "Vive La Cabaret," to a 6-week tour of the UK and Sweden, to Venice, Italy performing for MTV, and almost every city in Spain with Los Straightjackets and the Pontani Sisters. Not to mention a US tour headlining the Dos Equis Midnight Revue, and several US tours with Burlesque-a-Pades. At home in NYC, she was a cast member of the long-running shows "This Is Burlesque" (2007-2009) and "Guilty Pleasures" (2006-2007) and has performed at over 70 different venues in New York City including the Copacabana, Slipper Room, Highline Ballroom, and The Box, just to name a few.
But the stage is not enough for this tattooed temptress. She has appeared on some of your favorite television programs, including the CW's Gossip Girl, The Sydney Weekender, Canada's The List and FUSE Television, and has even been featured as a special guest on Sirius' Maxim Radio.
She has dazzled a variety of impressive corporate clients including Dos Equis, Hugo Boss, Dewar's, and Diesel. She has dropped the jaws of celebrities like Ethan Hawke, The Strokes, Bjork, Uma Thurman, Paul Shaffer, Adriana Lima, Prince Paul, Moby, Paul Pope, Rosie Perez, Willem Dafoe, Naomi Watts, and even legendary pornographer Al Goldstein. She has slipped between the covers of several popular publications including The Washington Post, The NY Times, Village Voice, The New Yorker, GO Magazine, Bust Magazine, The Onion, High Times, and "Page Six" in the New York Post. And yes folks, she has even graced the pages of the world's most notorious tabloid, the National Enquirer!
Recently named one of the Top 20 Neo-Burlesque Performers today by Asylum Magazine, and winner of the Golden Pastie for "Most Sensual Performer of 2009," Peekaboo Pointe is celebrated as one of America's most dynamic and seductive entertainers.
