Dorfman in Love
Charlotte Jewish Film Festival Film
Deb Dorfman (Sara Rue) is a 20-something Jewish girl who lives in L.A. with her crotchety old father (Oscar-nominated Elliott Gould) but yearns to take charge of her somewhat out of control life. In the course of one week, while hoping to win the heart of her unrequited love, Deb changes in ways she never thought were possible. The lovable doormat manages to profoundly transform both herself and those around her.
Writer/Producer Wendy Kout draws on an extensive film and TV career to fashion an entertaining romantic comedy in the vein of films such as Moonstruck, Bridget Jones' Diary and Muriel's Wedding. Kout created and was Executive Producer on the hit ABC show, Anything But Love, staring Jamie Lee Curtis and Richard Lewis. She also wrote for or developed projects for Paul Reiser, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams, Barbara Streisand, Disney, ABC, CBS, NBC and Lifetime.
Directed by Brad Leong
From an engaging cast to an exquisitely designed cinematic palette, Dorfman celebrates not only the renaissance and revitalization of Los Angeles but of one's own self. Sara Rue is enchanting and charming as Deb Dorfman and Elliott Gould is flawless as grieving Jewish widower Burt. Have your own romance with one of the sweetest romantic comedies of the year - Dorfman!"
