2017 Lititz Kid-Lit Festival
Our festivals mission is to bring together kids, parents, teachers and authors to celebrate the beauty of the written (and illustrated word) for the younger readers (and those of us that dont want to stop reading good that remind us of our youth). Aarons Books is located in the heart of Central Pennsylvania. We are family owned and operated since opening in 2005.
2017 Authors: Courtney Carbone writes the wonderful OMG Classics for teens and adults alike, and she writes Star Wars Golden Books, including I Am a Princess and The Phantom Menace, as well as early reader titles featuring Wonder Woman, Supergirl, and Peppa Pig.
Michael Northrop is the author of the NY Times bestselling Tombquest series, and his latest middle grade historical fiction adventure novel Polaris publishes just a few weeks before the 2017 Festival.
Jordan Sonnenblick, the author of numerous acclaimed novels for teens and tweens, has a brand new novel for middle grade readers, The Secret Sheriff of Sixth Grade, a story about standing up for yourself and being a hero at home and in the halls of your school.
Ame Dyckman is short, loud, mischievous, and often dresses like her book characters (which is why we love her!). Shes also the award-winning, internationally-translated author of the fantastical picture books Boy + Bot, Tea Party Rules, the New York Times bestselling Wolfie the Bunny, and You Dont Want a Unicorn!
A.S. King is making her eighth appearance at the Kid-Lit Festival, thanks to her numerous fans. She has been called One of the best Y.A. writers working today by the John Green in the New York Times. King is the author of such highly-acclaimed novels as Still Life with Tornado, the surrealist I Crawl Through It, Glory OBriens History of the Future, the 2012 Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner Ask the Passengers, and the 2011 Michael L. Printz Honor Book Please Ignore Vera Dietz, among others.
Linda Oatman High is the author of fifteen books for children and teens, including her new work One Amazing Elephant, which features a child losing her grandfather and bonding with the elephant from her familys circus.
David Neilsen is the author of dark, creepy, and funny novels for middle graders, including Dr. Fell and the Playground of Doom and his new book Beyond the Doors. (What is Aunt Gladys doing with all the missing doors in her strange, crazy house?)
Matt Phelan is making his fourth appearance at the Kid-Lit festival. The creator of acclaimed graphic novels The Storm in the Barn (winner of the Scott ODell Award), Around the World, and Bluffton, his latest is the bold and innovative New York Times bestseller Snow White. Matt has been nominated for five Will Eisner Awards.
Jared Reck will publish his debut Young Adult novel A Short History of the Girl Next Door in October, an equally funny and heart-wrenching story of young love.Jared lives in Hanover, where hes an eighth-grade Language Arts teacher.
