Abuelita's Christmas Carol
"Hilarious!" exclaims The Victoria Advocate. "Unforgettable!" raves NowPlayingInAustin.com. It's the West Coast premiere of Alex Garza's heart-warming new holiday tale. "In loving tribute to family and experiences from his own life, Garza portrays a comic and touching array of characters that do find what it means to live a truly 'wonderful life.' " (DO512.com). Alex Garza portrays his beloved grandmamma Rosita and nine other characters, including the ghost of his little pig, in this charming and poignant holiday offering. Four shows only - performances in English and in Spanish. For ages 9 to adult.

Spanish language show - Sunday, December 16 at 4:00 pm
English language shows - Saturday, December 15 at 2 & 4pm and Sunday, December 16 at 2 pm

The West Coast premiere of ABUELITA'S CHRISTMAS CAROL will be the seventh year Garza has performed his most beloved play, and the first year he will perform it in both English and Spanish, in loving tribute to his maternal grandmother. "A standing ovation!" hails the Austin Post. "My Christmas has been enriched." Yours will be, too when you and your family join Alex Garza on the holiday journey of Abuelita's Christmas Carol.

Alex Garza has been writing and performing most of his life. He visits Los Angeles from the hill country of Texas, the state where he was born and raised. In his theatrical career, he has played various roles on the stage, as well as written several plays. He performed his first solo show, entitled Pulse, at the Blue Theatre in Austin. Since then, he has created many one-man plays, including I'm Not Gandhi, The Baby Harp Seal Diaries, Coconut, and Misfit. His shows have been seen throughout South and Central Texas, ranging from Houston to Del Rio. In addition to his solo career, he has worked with many professional theatre companies in the Austin area. Having earned his Master's Degree in Theatre from Eastern Michigan University, he has also taught students of all ages for many years.
