WTF

WTF is a five-piece, Minneapolis-based group led by Warren Thomas Fenzi. Recently having coined the genre "Turquoise Rock", WTF brings a fresh breath of air to Independent Music and Art. Born in California and raised in Arizona, Warren Thomas Fenzi embraces his South-Western roots while aiming to create something new, healing, inspirational and transcendent of genre. WTF is made up of the members of the Twin Cities-based collective and record label, Kremblems with Warren Thomas Fenzi (Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Vocals), Bailey Cogan (Keys, Vocals), Karl Remus (Bass, Electric Guitar, Vocals), Christian Wheeler (Drums and Percussion) and Daniel Chavez (Trumpet).

WTF's first two singles, "We Were Never Meant To Stay The Same" and Blacken The Sun have been played on 89.3 The Current, KBEM Jazz 88 and KVSC 88.1 FM and the group has performed live on KVSC, Dakota Jazz Club, Vieux Carre, Stone Arch Bridge Festival and Aster Cafe among other notable venues. Having recently returned from their West Coast Tour to CO, AZ and CA, WTF prepares to tour the Midwest to Madison, Lacrosse and Chicago in early August. The group will be releasing their debut album on August 23rd!

LYDIA LIZA

Lydia Liza got her start in the group Bomba de Luz, composed of five young Twin Cities musicians. The group started taking shape when lead singer Lydia Liza began teaching herself the guitar at age 14. After composing a handful of original songs, Liza enlisted the help of fellow high school sophomores Evan Slack (electric guitar), Gavin Taylor (bass), John Blanda (keys), and Jonas Taghavi/Judah McCoy (drums), and the band was born.

Armed with an array of varied but mutual musical interests, the group won a battle of the bands in 2010, when they were all just 15. The prize, 24 hours of studio time at McNally Smith College of Music, resulted in the bands 7 song, self-titled EP. One year later they re-entered the McNally Smith studios to record their first full-length album, What a Heavy Weight. Currently, Bomba de Luz is on hiatus as the group finishes their college educations.

After gaining extensive Twin Cities notoriety as a band to watch via appearances on NPR and 89.3 The Current, Bomba De Luz was invited to play First Avenues Best New Bands showcase in 2012. The following summer the group was asked to perform alongside national acts like Matchbox Twenty, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Minnesota favorites Cloud Cult at the 2013 Basilica Block Party. Lydia Liza has also shared stages with artists like Jake Bugg, P.O.S, Atmosphere, No Bird Sing, Dessa, Frankie Lee, J.E Sunde, Dem AtlaS, Dave Simonett of Trampled By Turtles, Kimya Dawson, Jeremy Messersmith, Al Church, Caroline Smith, Family of The Year, Astronautalis, Chastity Brown, and many others.

Lydia Liza received a 4 year, full-ride scholarship for songwriting and composition to McNally Smith College of Music after she was recognized as a promising new artist through her many features and collaborations. Some collaborations of note are her work with Toki Wright & Big Cats, Eric Mayson, Xela, Slack, Caroline Smith as a backup singer, P.O.S, Homeless & Big Cats, Dem AtlaS, many Rhymesayers artists, Jeremy Messersmith and other various artists from the Twin Cities and the Midwest area.

Lydia Liza is currently in a few outfits, Toki Wright & Big Cats, Big Cats solo project for his album, What If It Doesnt Get Better? and gigging as a solo artist. She is looking to release new material in 2016 with her many collaborative partners.

AYVAH

Ayvah is a collection of jazz-trained musicians and hip-hop lovers rooted in soul; as they combine all of these influential and eclectic sounds, Ayvah has emerged as a jazz-funk, neo-soul band. Ayvah creates music from a wide base of inspiration, including love, heartbreak, coming of age, sexuality, poetry, nature and more. Minneapolis/Saint Paul based, Ava McFarlane (lead vocals), Sam Rosenstone (keys), Ethan Yeshaya (bass), Joey C. Hays (drums) and Andy Schupp (guitar) bring a strong sense of artistry and collaboration, thus creating a sound that's intriguing to all music tastes. City Pages echoes Ayvah's attack on music, saying, "Minneapolis five-piece Ayvahs is [hard] to pin down. Thats not just because theyve hardly released any music, instead preferring to hone their live show. Its due to the bands eclecticism; their sound is an intoxicating fusion of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, and more. Led by the preternaturally talented singer Ava McFarlane, the group reliably whips up kinetic, propulsive grooves, as attendees of their live shows have witnessed.

Ayvah's response to the eclecticism of their music is, "We dont want to limit ourselves to any specific genre or taste we just want to create art that is technical, thought out and charged with inspiration.
