Cool Jazz on a Hot Summer Night

16 Bay View presents Cool Jazz on a Hot Summer Night, featuring renowned saxaphonist, Greg Abate. Greg's jazz trio consists of Paul Del Nero on bass, Jon Wheatley on guitar, and Greg on sax and flute.

Greg is an Internationally Recognized jazz musician, with a wealth of experience playing around the world with his own groups as well as PhilWoods, Ray Charles Orchestra and the Artie Shaw Orchestra. He has recorded numerous albums under his own name and as a sideman. In the words of onecritic, "Greg is one of the most exciting players around today. Greg'scommitment to music is total". ( W. Bassist Paul Del Nero has been teaching at the Berkeley School of Music for 23 years and frequently performs and tours with Jazz greats and his own groups. Paul played bass with Mose Allison for many years. Jon Wheatley, on guitar, is also on the staff at Berkeley and has played with Ruby Brad, Dick Johnson, and Herb Pomeroy to name just a few.

This will be a wonderful night of fine acoustic jazz, Be-Bop and Swing so bring your dancing shoes. Tickets are only $20 purchased in advance or $25 at the door, and includes light hors d'oeuvres and a premium cash bar. Limited seating is available.
