Hudson Warehouse Actors Workshop: Monologue/Audition Class
Auditioning well takes a whole skill set unique to auditioning. Whether you are just starting out or working in the business for years, this 8 Week Class is dedicated to audition monologues and cold reading audition techniques. This class is open to beginners as well as working actors. This two hour class is designed to give actors the opportunity to hone their technique to book a job. We will talk about how to pick a monologue, will work on the monologues in class, and learn to have a positive approach to auditions in a safe and supportive environment.

8 Classes: Mondays, 6:30pm - 8:30pm; Oct. 16, 23, 30 Nov. 6, 13, 20, 27, Dec. 4; $320, Limited Space

The Instructor:

Nicholas Martin-Smith has taught acting for 20 years privately as well as at Brooklyn College, St. Francis College, Marymount Manhattan College, and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. His students have gone on to become award winning filmmakers, directors, and actors.

I  strive to foster a safe, relaxed and engaging environment to explore truthful human behavior onstage. I work primarily as a "guide" to help navigate the way and to interpret "the signs." I teach the lesson in the moment and address the challenges of both the beginner and the experienced actor.

What Students Have To Say:

"Nicholas is patient, insightful, friendly, and gets results. After working with Nicholas, I felt great about my auditions, got two callbacks, and landed a touring job. I would recommend him to any actor."

"Mr. Martin-Smith has been my director, coach and mentor in productions and the classroom. His patience, insight, and his passion excites students and makes them feel safe and supported to take risks."
