JAPANESE FAN DANCE with Cherry Typhoon (Tokyo / Montreal)
The Playful Peacock Showgirl Academy & The 2013 Minneapolis Burlesque Festival are proud to present Cherry Typhoon!
Create a more exotic fan dance! Cherry Typhoon will teach you Japanese fan dance methods based on the breezing technique of Asia. You will learn how to stop and move to get the attention of the audience, creating a more suspenseful and interesting fan routine. This class includes: basic movements for Japanese fan dance, how to breeze, and the exotic poses of Japanese dance.
About the instructor: Born to a traditional family in Tokyo, Cherry Typhoon began learning Okinawan dance in 1991. She was a Drama Director in Tokyo beginning in 1999, and in 2003 she formed MURASAKI Babydoll with Violet Eva. After the group performed at TeaseORama 2005 and Miss Exotic World 2006 (Best Troupe), Cherry began her solo career. In 2009, Cherry was awarded the "Rosita Royse Award" at the Montreal Burlesque Festival. She continues to perform at festivals and showcases across the US and around the world. Cherry is now based in Montreal.
