Blazing into this already-hot summer, weve got more talent coming in to send us straight to DnB bliss:
Please help us to welcome the mighty DOC SCOTT (31 Records/UK) making his debut appearance in Portland!
Oh but dont come late. Were honored to have one of US DnBs finest statesmen in the house (also on Doc Scott's label): METHOD ONE (Commercial Suicide/31 Recs/Samuri Music/Bassdrive) coming in from San Fran! Adding to the evening of music will be our amazing resident Definition: Positivetrue to the craft, top notch sets every time....and special guest just in from L.A: ...dj DYER, co-owner of Prestige Music! If you haven't heard Dyer live, you're in for a treat from one of our west coast's best.
Needless to say this will be an evening of spectacular deep soulful drum and bass from start to finish.

A true veteran and leading tastemaker in D&B, Doc Scott has been an essential and pivotal
figure in the scene since before its inception and continues to push things forward. Founding member of A Bunch Of Cuts, his DJ sets in the mid-90s became legendary, notably at the Metalheadz Blue Note sessions and Speed. Although primarily a DJ, his productions are definitive classics within the scene, such as Here Comes The Drumz on Reinforced, the first ever Metalheadz release VIP Drumz, to the more mellow sounds of
Tokyo Dawn on Good Looking Records. K-Punk on Doc Scotts Here Comes The Drumz release: Early track from one of Jungles most consistent producers, fascinating because you can hear the music starting to establish itself as a style in its own right. The rules are only just being written, and you can still hear the building blocks, not yet smoothed out. Based around a lift from Public Enemys Chuck D, its gloriously ruff and ready.
Looking to today, hes been a crucial figure in carving out a path for jungle and drum and bass to thrive.
His own label 31 Records, sparked by Scotts ground-breaking Shadow Boxing, has also been a hub for new talent, pushing some of the biggest artists today early on. Re-launching the new label in 2014, hes repped his sounds to a high level, beginning with Om Units remix of Shadow Boxing as the first release of 2014, with many others like Bungle, Serum, and Seba. With regular appearances at Soul In Motion and other London nights, Doc Scott is still blazing his own trail, and is back in the studio with a fresh start. Watch out for upcoming releases and collaborations in the pipeline in the coming months.

DEFINITION: POSITIVE

After broad exposure to Jazz, Salsa, and R&B growing up, Donahue Holland aka Definition: Positive learned to appreciate the deeper side of some of these genres, and how it affects and drives emotion. His passion for music and mixing exploded in the Los Angeles rave scene during the mid 90s, nurturing this new love for electronic music. Once experiencing Drum and Bass, he shifted gears permanently; realizing that this style was the missing part of his musical soul.
Former resident DJ at Nova Express Cafe, Futurebound Radio, LA, and LiquidBass.net, Def Pos became an LA staple representing these unique sounds. Since relocating to Salem, guest appearances have included Bassdrive, Signal Flow Radio LA, DnBTV and countless live performances all around Oregon with some heavy-hitters such as the Bachelors of Science, Artificial Intelligence, Ben Soundscape, ASIDES, Calculon, MC Question Mark, and more.
Now host of the weekly radio show Atmospheriq Tides, Fridays, and resident artist at JUICE! Drum and Bass nights in Portland, Def Pos delivers soulful grooves and funky baselines with a level of quality and sound not to be missed.
