Hungarian Genius | New Mexico Symphonic Chorus
New Mexico Symphonic Chorus Roger Melone, conductor
Liszts Missa Choralis has the tonality shifts and dynamic contrasts of the Romantic style, but still allows us the beauty of being caught up in something sublime. The warm harmonies in Whitacres modern-day Sleep are a setting from Silvestris original, magnificent poem. The work is also inspired by Robert Frosts poetry. Kodalys vivid Laudes Organi, his last published work celebrates the organ as the king of instruments- brilliantly integrating the chorus in a passionate variety of moods.
