The Pierce County Master Gardeners are hosting this workshop in Partnership with Pierce Conservation District, Pierce County Public Works, WSU Puyallup Research and Extension Center, and Tacoma Water. A special thank you to the City of Tacoma and Center for Urban Waters for sponsoring this event.

Rain Garden Workshop: Plan, Design, Build and Maintain
This is a 2 day workshop:
Friday, October 20th, 8:45-3:30
Saturday, October 21st, 9:00- 3:00

Participants will:
 Learn the basic steps to design a rain garden on public or private property as well as the resources available to assist in your design and installation
Practice designing a rain garden
Gain a general understanding of how to keep waterways clean
Learn how to support storm water mitigation efforts in their local watershed
Discover Natural Yard Care practices that reduce storm water pollution
View other LID options for public and private property on the WSU Puyallup Campus

Brief overview of the impacts of storm water and hydrology with Pierce Conservation District and WSU Faculty
Rain Garden Overview- basic design steps.  Learn about FREE design support from the Pierce County Conservation District and Pierce County Master Gardeners

Workshop Fee:  
$40.00 for 2 days
Includes a Rain Garden Manual
Free to Pierce County Master Gardeners (PCMGs should not register at this site.  Instead please call the office clinic at 253-798-7170 to register.)
