Kick the Ick: Surviving the Cold & Flu Season with Herbal Remedies. Help you and your family stay healthy and recover more quickly from winter colds and flus by using natural, local and easy herbal and food remedies.
Participants will leave this class with a toolkit of ideas and herbal knowledge -- as well as herbal samples from Herbalist Lisa Rose Starner's own herbal apothecary -- that they can put to use immediately during this winter's cold & flu season.
In this hands-on kitchen class, you will learn about and taste foods & herbal remedies that can help the body stay resilient during winter and in the face of illness, and recover more quickly when illness strikes. We will also talk about basic lifestyle considerations that affect stress and some strategies to keep stress in line and ways to keep the body strong during winter.
A light snack (vegan/gfree/dairy-free) and herbal teas will be offered. Participants are expected to provide their own lunch. $55.00. Free to current CSA members.
