Jamaican-born stage and screen actor Stogie Kenyatta presents his powerful portrayal of actor, singer and civil-rights activist Paul Robeson for Black History Month, following the show's February 2012 appearance at New York's Carnegie Hall. Told through examples of his fiery oratory and famous songs, The World Is My Home tracks the amazing true story of the Columbia Law School graduate and early NFL player, who gained fame in London by starring in Show Boat and Othello, and recording deep-voiced renditions of spirituals, like his famed "Ol' Man River." But because of his increasingly outspoken political beliefs, Robeson is denied the right to travel or perform, and his very health and sanity are threatened when he becomes a target of the McCarthy hearings.
