| Description |
Two Hours Traffic presents the World premiere of I and You, He, She, and Her:
Where: Freehold Theater The Rhino 1525 10th Ave. Capitol Hill Seattle, WA 98122 When: ONE WEEK ONLY! March 13th, 14th, 15th, 8pm March 16th, 2pm Tickets: Tickets through www.BrownPaperTickets.com or 1-800-838-3006 Pay What You Can, sliding scale, $10, $15, $20, $25, $30. Civilized society cries Poppycock! in perfect unison in response to Seattle playwright Lisa Hopps new play I and You, He, She, and Her. The piece relates the tale of a nameless family (I apply the term loosely) identified only with pronouns. The central character (who we know only as I) struggles furiously against the literal and metaphorical prison her upright and proper husband and mother have erected around her after catching her painting (gasp!) the maid (dear god!) in the nude (OH my!). Albeit somewhat uncouth subject matter for proper ladies and gents, Miss Hopps new piece is an exquisitely crafted turn-of-the-century drama that is as witty as it is poignant.
Come say goodbye to Freehold, with I and You, He, She and Her, the final show to grace the stage of The Rhino. Set to a haunting contemporary score composed by Alex Rivera, with a scenic design by Seattle architect Dave Jaffe, and directed by New Mexico transplant Brenda Walker, this passionate new work comes to life for the very first time right here in Seattle.
