The Other Son - Scottsdale
THE OTHER SON (France) Director: Lorraine Levy Drama - 105 minutes, French/Hebrew/Arabic/Engilish w/English Subtitles
Screening: Harkins Camelview 5 - Sunday, Feb. 17, 3 PM
The theme is one of the oldest and most potent in the Arts: infants switched at birth. But when can you recall it played out against the backdrop of one of the "oldest and most potent" geopolitical and religious conflicts, that of the Israelis and Palestinians? What makes The Other Son such a worthy and worthwhile viewing experience is that the film makers (the collective contribution of direction, writing, and performing) employ the Middle East conflict like a soup's base. All of the richly flavored human and personal ingredients (shock and bewilderment, prejudices and stereotyping, internal family struggles, love, hate, and anger) simmers and stews. To say more would be to give away the recipe. You will want to come and taste the story for yourself. What better opportunity than at a Jewish festival.
Guest Speaker: Lynn Trimble.
