Buckley / Muddy Ruckus
Born a Northerner with a Texas soul, multi-genre singer/songwriter Josh Buckley has released his long-awaited (sophomore) solo album, Blind Side of the Heart.
First premeiring his talents in Austin in (2011) fronting the critically acclaimed alt-country band Gilded Splinters, Buckley took the local music scene by storm. Playing a multitude of venues, events, and showcases, Buckley has built a solid and dedicated local fan base in a span of only a few short years.
Buckley's latest reveals the true merit of his abilities, serving up elements of alt-country and old-time rock-and-roll with a side of blues and garnished with soul. His single, Sara, a soul-baring yet teeth-clenching tune featured on KUT's Austin Music Minute, is only a hint of what Blind Side of the Heart has to offer.
Muddy Ruckus is an rock duo from Portland, Maine. The stripped down power duo features guitarist Ryan Flaherty and percussionist Erika Stahl. The band blends rootsy guitar and edgy percussion on a suitcase drum kit and is known for a full rock band sound, despite that they're a duo. They season their music with the salt of the eastern old ports, backroad electric grooves, and the mud of the Mississippi River where Flaherty grew up.
Muddy Ruckus' 2016 album "Pretty Bones" was named "Album of the Year" from Red Line Root's. Also that year, Muddy Ruckus was awarded "Best in State of Maine" by the New England Music Awards.
