Chapel Perilous
'Chapel Perilous' is an intimate performance and video installation taking audiences on a wild ride of religious ecstasy and spiritual transformation. Small groups of up to eight at a time enter the Chapel to experience a multifaceted performance installation combining video projections, silhouettes, and three performers manipulating resonant objects and their own bodies in striking tableau based on spiritual themes. The entire performance takes place around the audience as myriad windows and doors open to reveal object theater, tableaux vivant, and projected video or silhouettes. Blasted by holy fire, whirling with dervishes, speaking in tongues, individuals within the chapel will ride an intoxicating, surreal roller coaster of images and sounds. 'Chapel Perilous' lasts approximately 17 minutes and will run continuously from 6 to 11pm. There will be hot drinks and cocktails, and crafts with members of the group!
