We are excited to announce that the World Premiere of "Man In Red Bandana" will be held on September 6, 2017, at 7:30 pm.
This film traces the story of Welles Remy Crowther, an extraordinary 9/11 hero and Rockland-county native. Welles was a 24-year old civilian who gave his life saving others in the South Tower of the World Trade Center including carrying a woman down 17 flights on his shoulder. His bravery and heroism only became known 8 months later due to a simple, ordinary object ... a red bandana. Through interviews, archive footage, recreations and animations, the film depicts Welles' story in a comprehensive, educational and engaging manner. The ending depicts the diverse ways that Welles is honored (locally and throughout the United States) leading to the revelation of a secret about Welles that can only be described as inspirational.
Our film marks the first time that Gwyneth Paltrow, an Oscar-winning actress, has ever narrated a documentary and includes an original song entitled "One Red Bandana" performed by Grammy-winnning performer Lyle Lovett.
Given its proximity to Welles' hometown of Upper Nyack and its magnificence, we are excited for this first public screening of the film to be held at the historic Lafayette Theater. We hope that you will attend and bring your family, friends and neighbors to this truly special event.
Doors open at 6:45 pm.
