WS Riverfest Film Clinic with Mountain Mind Collective

This year the White Salmon Riverfest is adding a whole extra day of special activities.

Join Mountain Mind Collective film producer, director and White Salmon River local Brendan Wells for a fun and informative workshop.

Brendan and team will be covering the basics of how to use your digital camera to take stunning, professional quality photos and videos. The focus of this workshop will be to familiarize yourself with the latest digital cameras and editing software, and most importantly how to tell a great story through your media! Learn to plan and storyboard your films, shoot like a pro and learn tips and tricks for recording good sound and interviews, and the basics of lighting.

We will be exploring the basics of story telling with a special focus on rivers, conservation and stewardship. With growing concerns of the future salmon, and the entire ecosystem of the Columbia River Gorge and its tributaries, we will encourage participants to tell their stories and share their experiences of living in the Columbia River Gorge and how individuals can be stewards of our watershed. We encourage folks to create videos with the goal of sharing them at the first annual Columbia River Conservation film festival, planned for fall of this year.

Following the workshop, participants will be encouraged to go practice their skills by shooting the many WS Riverfest activities the following day. Bring your own digital camera or borrow one of the rentals we will provide for the workshop.An editing clinic will follow this event (and is included in the registration), location and date TBD.

Registration is only $30 for the entire day! Equipment will be provided to practice with, but please bring your own snacks, lunch and camera/computer if you have them.
