Kathy Mata Ballet's End of Summer Showcase
Kathy Mata Ballet is pleased to announce its upcoming annual theater performance on Saturday, August 26, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in the beautiful state-of-the-art theater at Mercy High School, San Francisco.

The performance will feature Kathy Mata Ballet dancers performing pieces ranging from the classical to the contemporary.

Highlights include:
Simply Mozart, a charming classical ballet piece choreographed by company director Kathy Mata
Orpheus in the Underworld, a full-length romantic, mystical and adventurous story ballet set to the entire cast of company dancers
Original solos, duets, and guest performances in pieces which range from modern to musical theater, plus more!

Admission is FREE (ticket pricing is based on a sliding scale, or "pay-what-you-can" system), although donations are always welcomed. All proceeds go to support the company's expenses, such as renting rehearsal space, making costumes (performers usually donate their own time and materials), etc.

Background:
Founded in 1988, Kathy Mata Ballet is one of few dance companies in the U.S. to provide talented adults from non-dance professions with opportunities to train and perform, rehearsing several times a week, on top of their regular work days. The company has an emphasis on community
service and regularly performs at senior centers and other community organizations across the San Francisco Bay Area. Their performances (free of charge or by donation) benefit local charities.
