Róisín O is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician, and released her debut album The Secret Life of Blue in 2012, and was described by the Sunday Times as "evoking the likes of Joni Mitchell, Joanna Newsom and Kate Bush." Her second CD (see video below) is getting a lot of well deserved attention, and O will be including a lot of material from it in her live performance.
Róisín is the daughter of singer Mary Black and brings a deep family history of music into her performances and song writing. Here brother, Danny O'Reilly is also in her band as well as his own project The Coronas.

The Burren Backroom series is now well established as one of the most sought-after boutique series of music presentations in the world. It has already created already dozens of memorable, intimate, informal presentations held in a truly atmospheric space which was founded by well-known musicians Tommy McCarthy and Louise Costello in Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts.
Hosted by Brian O'Donovan of A Celtic Sojourn on WGBH radio, these gatherings feature core performers from many aspects of traditional music as well as special guests, and conversations around the music. As is the custom of the Burren, it is anticipated informal and dynamic post concert sessions will be a feature.
