AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS 2012
AMAHL AND THE NIGHT VISITORS Choreographer: James Sewell Composer: Gian Carlo Menotti A widow and her young disabled son are visited one night by three wise men. This encounter and the mystery that occurs are at the heart of the production of Amahl and the Night Visitors presented by Earthen Vessels. The opera-ballet, commissioned for television by Hallmark in the 1950's features the music of Gian Carlo Menotti, and is choreographed by James Sewell with American Sign Language (ASL) integrated seamlessly into the production, making the work accessible to those with hearing loss. Earthen Vessels presents four performances of Amahl and the Night Visitors on Saturday, December 15 and December 16 at 1:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Margaret Alkek Williams Dance Lab at the Houston Ballet Center for Dance, 601 Preston, Houston, 77002.
