Razor's Edge: The Legacy of Iranian Actresses
Diaspora Arts Connection proudly presents a special screening of Bahman Maghsoudlou's Razor's Edge: The Legacy of Iranian Actresses. The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with the Director.
General synopsis: An overview of the work of actresses in Iranian films before the 1979 revolution, laid out through copious interviews and film clips, with a focus on the hurdles that existed in that society before the massive change, how they presaged what was to come, and how the power of expression continues to be a formidable force despite the efforts of small, fearful, reactionary minds.
Razors Edge is a poetic love letter to the female pioneers of Iranian cinema.
