Sabra Faulk has been a staple in the Tucson music scene for over 20 years and is best known for her rock/funk blues bass playing. She has played with Sam Taylor, Heather Hardy, Kevin Pakulis, and many others. In recent years she has been making quite a splash as a songwriter and solo artist.
Sabra has been a favorite musician at Abounding Grace. She is a gifted songwriter with a voice that is strong and clear, yet vulnerable and passionate all in one breath. And she brings tremendous versatility to the stage. She first performed at Abounding Grace with Silver Thread Trio during LAVA's maiden season in 2009, in a special Mother's Day show with Bunny Kirby and both of their mothers in 2010, with Gene Holmes, Louie Levinson, and Ralph Gilmore in 2011, and in the spring of 2012 with her Angel Band. No performance has fallen short of amazing, but that performance with the Angel Band was like...well, it was like angels. We just had to have them back! The Angel Band is made up of Heather Hardy on electric violin, Mitzi Cowell on lead guitar, Bunny Kirby on harmony vocals, and Bev Seckinger on bass.
Sabra Faulk and the Angel Band will perform at Abounding Grace Sanctuary, 2450 S. Kolb, just north of Golf Links on the west side of Kolb, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Advance tickets are available for $15 online at Brown Paper Tickets. If not sold out, admission at the door is $20 cash.
