KASANA Cooking Classes
Would you like to get a sneak preview of one of the most creative new food businesses to open in Milwaukee? Do you like to explore new cuisines and learn new tricks for the kitchen?  This is your chance! KASANA now offers cooking classes every Monday night!

Each week we will welcome a different guest chef into our space to demonstrate how to cook some of their favorite foods. Guests will enjoy a sample of each dish created, paired with a tasting of wine or beer, to add to the tasting experience.

On Monday, November 26th  our Guest Chef will be Yollande Deacon, owner of Afro Fusion Cuisine and member of the KASANA Collective.

Bio:

Native of Cameroon, Central Africa, Chef Yollande Tchouapi Deacon is the founder of Afro Fusion Cuisine, a modern culinary and lifestyle company that aims to introduce the Milwaukee community and beyond to West and Central African spices, foods and cuisine with authentic dishes that connect you with  the culture, savors and heritage of her native Africa. Yollande's cuisine is based on all natural produces, fresh ingredients, Afro fusion Cuisine organic spice blends, and a ton of passion that you can feel in every bite. Her cuisine emphasizes colors, layers of flavor and fun that transport you in exciting kitchens around West & Central Africa.  Yollande is a mother, wife, employee of a fortune 500 company, social activist on education issues in Africa, food blogger, Culinary instructor, foody at heart and a passionate of  African spices and Cuisine. Yollande is a published cookbook author, contributor to Honestcooking Magazine in the USA and Goducamer publication in Cameroon.  Yollande is proud to re-invest 15% of her Afro Fusion Cuisine earning to promote education in Africa through Afro fusion Cuisine scholarship fund.

Menu:

Joloff Rice- Also called Benachin in Gambia, Thieboudienne in Senegal and Riz Gras in Cameroon is a very popular dish in West Africa.It is a flavorful and satisfying tomato,  herbs, vegetable and rice dish with versatile flavors that is often paired with fish,  meat and vegetables. Each West and Central African country has its interpretation of this dish which Afro Fusion Cuisine is proud to render DELICIOUSLY!

Ivory Coast Alloco - Also called Missolet in Cameroon, this dish is a common sweet and savory snack and side dish in every African household. It is made of Sweet ripe plantains fried to perfection based on our Afro Fusion Cuisine  recipe and often paired with fish or meat.

DG Chicken- Also called General Director is a staple dish in Cameroon. Historically reserved for General Managers ( Upper class or rich Cameroonians), this dish was served only in special occasions because of its fancy combination of ingredients including expensive cuts of chicken, fresh vegetables and rare spices. DG has morphed today into a common favorite and staple dish for the Central Africa region.It is an explosion of fresh, flavorful Cameroonian yumminess Afro fusion Cuisine style!
