Parker & Seville and Vest of Friends Present: Marc, Reid, Dave, Matt, Morgan, Tim and Evan Build a Snowman
Vest of Friends and Parker & Seville are two of the funniest sketch comedy groups operating in Toronto, and they have decided to combine their hilarity in a series of shows called Marc, Reid, Dave, Matt, Morgan, Tim and Evan Build a Snowman at Unit 102, an artist-run theatre studio in the heart of Parkdale. Evening shows will run Tuesday December 11th to Saturday December 15th at 8pm, with a matinee at 2pm on Sunday December 16th.
The show will feature sketches from each troupe linked together into a narrative, along with an opening and closing scene featuring both troupes. Opening the show will be a set from one of Toronto's most acclaimed standup comedians. Tickets are available at brownpapertickets.com and at the door for $10 each, $5 for students.
VEST OF FRIENDS
Vest of Friends is made up of Morgan George, Evan Richardson, Reid Brackenbury, and Marc Hallworth, all of whom met in 2009 while studying comedy at Humber College. Though only in their early 20s, they produce and host 'The Vest Show in Town', a monthly comedy variety show at the Comedy Bar. They were nominees for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund in 2011, and they've been part of the 2011 and 2012 Montreal SketchFests, two showcases for Just For Laughs, and the 2010 and 2011 Toronto SketchFests where they won the Producer's Pick Award.
PARKER & SEVILLE
Parker and Seville are the noms de stage of Dave Barclay and Matt Kowall. Formed in 2007 as an old-time classic comedy duo, recently Parker and Seville have expanded beyond their trademark vaudeville characters and currently perform all sorts of different comedic sketches. Parker and Seville are well loved in Toronto's Comedy, Burlesque and Circus scenes, and have been featured at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, the Toronto Burlesque Festival, and the Boston Burlesque Expo. Twice they have travelled down to Chicago, IL to perform in a series of shows with world-famous Burlesque legend Michelle L'Amour (Miss Exotic World 2005). Dave and Matt met at Humber College in 2005 in the Comedy Writing and Performance Program.
Parker and Seville are joined by frequent collaborator Tim Gilbert, who often appears in Parker and Seville sketches as the curmudgeonly Mr. McGudgeon. Tim was a finalist in the Great Canadian Laugh Off 2010, is part of the comedy collective Laugh Sabbath and has written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes.
