| Description |
Premiere of "Martin Remembered, A Choral Legacy of Love and Light," a major choral work by Kent Stevenson, highly regarded local composer and music director. The Seattle Peace Chorus commissioned this piece for its Annual Spring Concert to be performed on the 40th anniversary of the death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This stirring composition combines the traditions of gospel, hymns, spirituals, jazz, Indian raga and European choral music. The chorus will be joined by members of Seattle gospel and community choirs to emphasize Dr. Kings message of inclusiveness and unity.

Debbie Cavett, Soloist at Seattle First AME Church
Encore Performance, by popular demand, of "Let America Be America Again," an original composition by Frederick West, Seattle Peace Chorus Director, based on the poem "Let America Be America Again," written by the renowned African American poet, Langston Hughes.
