Kara Sevda
Kara Sevda is Turkish for "blind love" or "black passion." It describes a type of attraction that is passionate, almost dangerously so. The kind of love that eats you alive, that destroys you from the inside. Love that makes you blind, that is characterized by intense longing.
In Kara Sevda, nuclear winter has descended upon the globe. The last train south out of Paris is boarding. But not everyone will be drawn in the lottery. When Celia and Rhys find themselves awaiting the lottery results on the same bench, they strike up a challenging acquaintance amidst falling bombs and a nameless war, asking the question what kind of world do we live in now... and what happens if they don't catch the train at all?
Written by Lisa VillaMil and originally performed at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Now What Theatre is on their 2017 tour including Ithaca, NY, Tampa, FL, Virginia, MN, Portland, ME, Toronto, ON, Washington DC, and Edinburgh. Find out more at https://nowwhattheatre.com/
