Movement and Meditation Workshop with szalt dance co.
Get your mind and body moving for a two hour B & B workshop with szalt dance company. B & B is a movement-meditation practice led by Stephanie Zaletel and szalt dance company members utilizing guided improvisation and creative tasks to warm the body and stimulate the imagination. This rigorous practice increases stamina, balance, creative thinking, and flexibility. Inspired by the dancers' extensive experiences with Gaga, Yoga, Contemporary, and szalt's repertoire, B & B challenges the mover to work from an intuitive physical state in order to access their physical and mental range. All the while they are inviting a patient and conscious connection between body, blood, brain, breath and the time and space we cohabit.
All levels of mover are welcome and encouraged to join. Please wear comfortable clothing you can easily move and sweat in.
szalt dance co. is a collection of Los Angeles movers, collaborating with musicians and visual artists artistically led by dancer and choreographer, Stephanie Zaletel. Since 2012, Zaletel has set forth a myriad of new works across the city for szalt and in 2017 they will embark on a tour to Seattle and Santa Fe premiering Zaletel's Marshmallow Sea in collaboration with clipping.'s Jonathan Snipes and garment designer Amabelle Aguiluz.
