JEWS DON'T KAYAK at the Parodos Festival
JEWS DON'T KAYAK is a comedy-drama about the star-crossed marriage of a recent widower and a perennial transition woman- someone whom men date after a relationship breakup until they feel sufficiently confident to go out and find someone they actually love. The couple is clearly mismatched by background, temperament and even jobs: The woman, from a wealthy background, runs an import/export business; the man is a newspaper columnistor as he puts it, an anachronism in the employ of an anachronism. Because of their physical attraction to each other, mutual history of heartbreaks and unspoken fatalism, they somehow feel they can make their relationship work. The question is, should it? Set in modern-day San Diego, California, JEWS DON'T KAYAK is ultimately about people who talk at, but rarely to, one another.
