Lost Bodies by Nicola Hunter
CURRENTLY ON TOUR
Grief births an emotional journey which swells and tears the flesh, and when you are spat out again its onto barren lands. Everything that I thought I knew about my life was dragged from me and pulled deep into the ocean. There was death and it took me with it. This new performance offers the first few breaths of a new life, with a new voice, in a new body. In Lost Bodies live artist Nicola Hunter embarks on her first tour with live shamanic drumming by Alison Brierly and a new sound commission from Sarah Glass celebrating grief as a strengthening process for the soul, a metamorphosis and a labored fight in the darkness.
A radical return to performance by Hunter, who has been traveling the world with her Raising the Skirt exhibition and gathered the attention of high profile publications such as Vice Magazine, Dazed and The Guardian.
This is a unique opportunity to catch one of the most vital artists of our time in Bristol, before she heads of on a UK tour in 2017. Whilst this is a radical performance art piece, it is suitable for young people interested in theatre, visual arts and live art, as well as those going through period of grief (particularly women).
