Sugarloaf to Hood Mt. Los Alamos Lot Hiking Shuttle
Want to do a through hike from Sugarloaf Park to Hood Mt. Los Alamos Parking Lot or vice versa? Catch a ride on the Sugar Shuttle!
How it works Every hour our Shuttle will leave from either Sugarloaf Park or Hood Mt. Regional Park Los Alamos Lot. Make a reservation and then ride to the other end of the trail, or hike and ride back. Riding first and hiking back to your car is the easiest way - no worries about how long you take to finish your hike. First Pick-up is at 9:00 am at Sugarloaf and runs through 12 noon the last pick up at Hood Mt. Los Alamos Lot, at the end of Los Alamos Road. (NOT the Pythian lot of Pythian Road).
We recommend a reservation, but you can ride on a space available basis as well.
This 7.5-mile one-way hike with 2,200 feet of vertical climbing should take 4 to 5 hours. This is why we recommend dropping your car off at one end and riding the shuttle to the other so you're not having to wait for the shuttle to return when you finish your strenuous hike. No charge for the ride, but suggested donations of $10 are accepted on the shuttle.
Dogs are not allowed on the shuttle or on the State Park part of the trail.
Shuttle operated by Team Sugarloaf / Sonoma Ecology Center.
