Hi my name is Debbie Melendez I am the Founder and Director of Youth Dance Festival.
This event was created in memory of my brother David Melendez and I know he's looking down on us with his fabulous smile.
He started the Children & Teen Salsa Congress in 2005 sadly, he lost his battle to cancer Feb 8, 2007. David will always live within us and as well as those who knew him, because of his work in the Mambo Community and around the world.
Currently I continue to live my brother's dream, because of my passion and love for the children this event will continue to grow. This event is a diverse, traveling dance festival that caters to children and teens, and all dance styles are welcome.
Our mission is to promote, encourage, publicize & facilitate the art of dancing & other cultural dances at our events. Salsa-Mambo, Cha-Cha, Bomba Y Plena, Flamenco, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical & Hip Hop are just some of the many styles of dance you would see at our events. By holding exhibitions & demonstration we can raise the awareness of our children's talent.
