Charity and the JAMband Family Concert
Charity and the JAMband is a tribe of musicians, performers, and parents from San Francisco creating an original, rockin', and soulful music and dance experience for families. Due to the huge and positive response from families craving live and recorded music experiences all ages can enjoy together, the JAMband is on its third cd and gigs regularly around the Bay Area.
Join Charity and the JAMband for their Santa Cruz premier at this fundraiser for Main Street Elementary School. The band plays kids music the whole family can groove to. Spanning every genre from funk to bluegrass to surf to rock 'n' roll to meditative, the JAMband gets folks of all ages up outta their seats! For more information, visit www.jamjamjam.com.
Charity writes songs inspired by her own kids and the kids she works with as a school- and library-performer, and in her parent/child JAM Music and Movement classes. Lyrics touch on topics near and dear to kids' hearts, but uplift rather than talk down. The music is inspired by Charity's wide array of influences (everything from the Stones to Manhattan Transfer to Led Zeppelin to Sweet Honey in the Rock to the Beatles to Bach to Old and In the Way to Joni Mitchell to Parliament to Michael Franti to Rickie Lee Jones and beyond) and inspire movement at every turn.
The JAMband is the ideal family music performance act. Kids and grown-ups alike love the tunes and the full band vibe and visual. Be prepared to sing & dance, move & groove, laugh & love, rock & roll, riddle & rhyme, surf & climb, wiggle & shake, quiver & quake, get down, get funky, turn around, get spunky...come on everybody, let's JAM!
