Shipwrecked! The Amazing Adventures of Louis De Rougemont (As Told By Himself).
The season opens May 19 with Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies' highly inventive "Shipwrecked! The Amazing  Adventures of Louis De Rougemont (As Told By Himself). The play brings audiences the thrilling story of bravery, survival and celebrity that left 19th century England spellbound. Be prepared to be whisked away in a story of the high seas, populated by exotic islanders, flying wombats, giant sea turtles and a monstrous man-eating octopus. "Shipwrecked! examines how far we are willing to blur the line between fact and fiction in order to leave our mark on the world.  The New York Times wrote "We can also consider  the possibility that the hero of this true story, based on an untrue story, is a little of each." The cast includes David Joseph, a veteran of Shakespeare and Company, who was nominated for a Berkshire Theatre Award for his charming portrayal of Charles Chaplin in the Oldcastle production of the world premiere of "The Consul, the Tramp & America's Sweetheart. John Hadden, the winner of the Berkshire Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Shakespeare and Companys"Two Gentlemen of Verona", makes his Oldcastle debut as De Rougemont.
