Navajo Plying Spinning
Learn to ply in an ingenious way that will open your eyes to possibility of plied yarn. Navajo plying also known as chain plying is a way to create a 3-ply yarn where one spins a length of yarn, then instantly plies back on that length of yarn. Therefore, once you are finished spinning, you are truly finished - moreover, your product is an amazing 3-ply, handspun yarn. This is a great opportunity to learn this rare technique. Students should bring their own spinning wheel and a lazy kate (bobbin holder) with them and provide their own wool roving for spinning. Students will need at least 2 empty bobbins for their wheel. This class isn't really for beginning spinners but for someone who can spin a fairly regulated single yarn.
