HOW TO PUPPET: WITH TOM MCGEE
Love the Muppets? Sesame Street? Avenue Q? Nows your chance to learn how to make them! From acclaimed puppet company Shakey-Shake and Friends comes this unique workshop where youll learn to build and manipulate a basic puppet character, in the tradition of the Muppets!

On day one, well use some basic supplies to create a brand new character, one that you design and build (well be creating a fully functioning mouth and a half head using techniques that can be expanded into a full puppet build) and then on day two, learning the basics of puppeteering to learn to manipulate your puppet.

By the end of the workshop, youll have a basic, working knowledge of how to use rod and mouth (Muppet-style) puppets, as well as an understanding of the design and construction of puppets. And youll have your very own training puppet character to take home.

- Adapt your ideal design to the limitations of the puppet

- Design and construct a functional puppet mouth and face

- Learn the basics of further design (body, etc)

Performance Skills:

- Practice specific key skills such as puppet focus and animation

- Learn to create a character that matches your design and the puppet itself

- Develop a physicality that suits your specific puppet
