Join Contratiempo to celebrate the 100th issue! Dance to live and DJ music. Purchase art between 5:30 and 8:30- A portion of the proceeds from art sales will be donated to Contratiempo.
Hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided from 5:30-8:30, and drinks only from 8:30-11:30.
5:30-11:30 PM CELEBRATION FUNDRAISER- $100 Contribute $1 per issue and be an official sponsor of the 100 issues of revista contratiempo, with recognition on the program, website and our 101st issue. Stay for the after-fundraiser party! (ticket price includes after-fundraiser Dance Party)

Sobre la revista: Hablar de contratiempo es hablar de los orígenes de las revistas literarias y culturales de Chicago y de los Estados Unidos. Porque de las ciudades estadounidenses con barrios hispanos significativos, Chicago es la única en la que han surgido revistas literarias y culturales en español de un modo persistente. De 1990 a 1993 se publicaron ocho números de Tres Américas, y de 1992 a 1995 aparecieron doce números de Fe de erratas. Estas dos publicaciones en forma tácita compartían un mismo objetivo: dar a conocer la literatura en español que se estaba haciendo en Chicago, sobre todo cuentos y poemas. En otras palabras, estas dos revistas se fueron convirtiendo en los vehículos para que se dieran a conocer los primeros textos escritos en español en Chicago.
