The Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico is hosting an amazing fundraising event to support the community building and support work that we do in the state of New Mexico.
Doors will open at 4:15pm
At 5pm we will kick off the event with a screening of the award winning documentary REAL BOY. REAL BOY is an intimate story of a family in transition. As 19-year-old Bennett Wallace navigates early sobriety, late adolescence, and the evolution of his gender identity, his mother makes her own transformation from resistance to acceptance of her trans son. Along the way, both mother and son find support in their communities, reminding us that families are not only given, but chosen.
Immediately following the screening we will have a chance to talk with Bennett Wallace, Joe Stevens and Shaleece Haas and ask questions about the film.
Around 7pm we will have an hour break for food, mingling, making friends and building community then we will wrap up with live music from Bennett and Joe!
