Odd Socks - Appetites and Bias
Join us Friday evening, April 21 for a TRULY EXCITING ODD SOCKS!
Award-winning writers Beth Dooley and Jessica Nordell are going to present a uniquely mismatched evening of ideas.
For nearly 40 years, Beth Dooley has been covering the local food scene (before it had a name)... Author of six cookbooks, including Savoring the Seasons of the Northern Heartland (with Lucia Watson), and In Winters Kitchen, she is a columnist for the Strib and a regular contributor to MPR's Appetites.
Jessica Nordell is an award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in the NY Times, the Washington Post, the New Republic and Slate. A former sketch comedy writer for A Prairie Home Companion and producer for the radio show, On Being, Jessica will talk about her interest and study of bias, which is the topic for an upcoming book.
WHAT TO EXPECT: Wine, beer, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, ping pong, foosball, fun people and an energetic, intriguing presentation that will inspire and engage your brain!
