Songwriters In The Round
Lisa Redfern brings three talented Maine songwriters to perform in an intimate, unplugged setting in Frontier's theatre for an evening of compelling songs and stories. At this season premiere, she'll be joined by John and Rachel Nicholas and Michael Krapovicky.
John and Rachel Nicholas have been making music together for more than 30 years. They have lived in California, New York and Massachusetts and have recently. Their lyrical songs are an eclectic brew of Folk and Roots Rock highlighted by soulful singing and harmonies that attain a special alchemy. As one reviewer has said, "They sing with one voice." The Alternate Root review said that their voices "intertwine with a force that commands the songs they sing from the passion of truth."
Michael Krapovicky is a singer and songwriter... and also a multi-instrumentalist, member of multiple touring bands, recording engineer, mastering technician and producer. He has immersed himself in every facet of the music making process. This deep knowledge of "song" proves the cornerstone to well-structured tunes, an intuitive audience connection, and a sound in nearly any room that ranges from folksy, communal light-heartedness to rumbling mug-clashing conviviality. His new album "Songs I Lied About" and "The Wants and the Wanting More" are due out this year and next respectively.
