For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/ When The Rainbow is Enuf by Ntozake Shange premered in 1975. The series of choreopoems is described as the poetic monologues that focuses on the stories of seven women whom have suffered oppression in a racist and sexist society. The audience should be prepared to dance, sing, laugh, cry, and leave with a better understanding of the world in which the women have no way of escaping.
